Alistair and Caroline Beattie met in 1992 at Sheffield Hallam University. Married in 1996 they are parents to three amazing children – Joseph, Matthew and Elloise. In 1997 they moved onto the Arbourthorne council estate on the south-east side of Sheffield, UK, as they felt a call to plant church in one of roughest housing estates in the country. In 2001, Arbourthorne Community Church was born.
Over the years both Alistair and Caroline have developed a distinct call to serve the wider Church family, in Sheffield and beyond. In 2014, they felt called to hand on the leadership of the local church to Andrew and Claire Keel, which released them to continue their passion to pioneer new Kingdom projects.
Alistair has been a member of the Ground Level network leadership team, Sports Chaplain at Sheffield United Football Club, and is an inspirational communicator, passionate about seeing the Church effective in transforming the world. He has just started a new role as Padre in the British Army.
Caroline, as well as being a full-time Mum (the MOST important role in the world!!!) is a pioneer in community development, serving the church by leading community service initiatives. She also plays a pivotal role in local education through her role as Chair of Governors in a federation of local primary schools.
Both Alistair and Caroline are great speakers with a passion to see the Church mobilised.
